Why do we have a Privacy Policy?

Avoko is committed to meeting our legal requirements with respect to Privacy for all who access and use our website or mobile application. Under the General Data Protection Regulation, we must comply with certain requirements that are designed to ensure that any personal data you provide to us is processed with due care and attention, and that you as an individual are aware of and know how to exercise your rights and freedoms with respect to any personal data you trust Avoko with.

What data do we collect and why?

Avoko collects the personal details that you provide when you use our mobile applications or website for the purposes of assisting with the recruitment process (the “Services”). We only collect personal data which is necessary to provide the Services and in compliance with all applicable laws. This information may include your name, email address, telephone number, mobile device information, work history, and details of your eligibility to work. When downloading our App, Avoko will also access your mobile phone contacts in order for you to control who you share the Services with, Avoko does not download or hold this data on any of their servers.

Where you have agreed to participate in the Avoko service and receive payment for the use of such services this forms part of a contract for the purposes of which we need to collect and store your details.

Information we Collect

Avoko collects the following information from service users:

  • Name
  • Mobile Phone Contact Number
  • Email Address
  • Employment Details
  • Bank Details

 

We do not sell or rent this information to anyone. We may share your information but only with 3rd parties with whom we need to perform the services and who have committed to all the provisions of the GDPR. Additionally, where we do share this information, we have contractual agreements with all our 3rd parties who are bound to abide by the GDPR and treat your personal data as we would.

  • Amazon Web Services
  • Twilio SMS Gateway
  • SMTP.com Email Gateway

 

Avoko (‘the Service’) is a unique platform where you can share vacancies with your professional contacts to help source genuine ‘referral hires’ and where you can also look to apply for a new job role which has been posted within the App, either by Avoko themselves or by others within your professional network. The personal data that we ask you to supply will ONLY be shared when you apply for a role, and on a pier-to-pier basis only.

How long we will keep your information

We will keep your information for as long as you have a relationship with us. After the relationship ends we will only keep your information for a further 12 months in-line with the terms of this policy. After this period, your data will not be used in line with this policy and we will only keep your information where we may need it to meet our regulatory requirements with the ICO and other regulators.

Registration

We request information from you as part of the registration process. This information is used to enable us to provide you with the Services. If we have trouble providing the Services, this information is used to get in touch with you.  Avoko does not use this information for any other purpose.

Data Aggregation

Avoko may use aggregated data to help us understand our users so we can continually improve our service. We may use website data to analyse trends, administer the site, track users’ movements and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Such data aggregation is not linked to personally identifiable information.

Overseas Transfers

Avoko WILL NOT transfer the information you provide to countries outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”).

Security

Avoko takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. We use security measures consistent with current best practices to protect our web and mobile applications, web site and back-office platform using technologies such as HTTPS, token-based authentication and data encryption. We regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks to safeguard data from misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, loss, alteration or destruction. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to your information. Access to personal information is only provided to those parties who participate in the Services.

Marketing and Opt-Out Rights

By submitting personal information in the process of registering for the Services, you understand and agree to allow us to use the personal information you have provided in order for us to contact you via telephone, email or SMS to provide assistance with the Services.

At the point of collecting the information from you we ask if we might use your information to send you details of other products and service provided by Avoko. If you opted into this service we may contact you via email, SMS or other electronic means to inform you about our such services or other services provided by us that are similar to those that you have already agreed to and/or to discuss other products and services provided by us.

You have the right to opt out of these communications at any time by notifying us at hello@avoko.com or by using the contact details set out in the Complaints or queries section below.

How do you remove your name from Avoko?

You can contact us at reset@avoko.com to request for your account to be closed at any time, which will be confirmed within 48 hours of your request.

Notification of Changes

Any policy changes, either due to business reasons or future changes in legislation will be posted on this page and, if material, may be promoted on the Website or through e-mail notification.

Your rights as an individual in respect of the data we hold

We respect the rights and freedoms of individuals and as such we would like to make you aware of the following.

You have the right to:

  • Request access to your data
  • Request rectification of your data where there are errors or inaccuracies, or the data is not current
  • Request that the data we hold is removed entirely from our systems (the right to have data removed is only applicable where it does not conflict with our legal and regulatory requirements to keep certain records according to the data retention period)
  • Request us to restrict processing of your data
  • Object to our processing of your data
  • Request your data in a format that is commonly used/accepted
  • Send your data to another controller
  • Withdraw consent already provided – at any time

Complaints or queries

Avoko tries to meet the highest standards when collecting and using personal information and take any complaints we receive about this very seriously. We encourage people to bring to our attention if they think that our collection or use of information is unfair, misleading, or inappropriate.
